KRISTINE POGALIES COLBURN
Kristine Pogalies Colburn became a member of the California Bar Association in December 1993 after graduating from Thomas Jefferson Law School in the top 5% of her class. She is a partner in the law firm of Stocks & Colburn. She has worked in a Family Law firm and be doing adoptions for 18 years. Kristine has worked extensively in the Surrogacy/Family formation field since 1999.

Kristine is a Fellow of the Academy of California Adoption Lawyers/Academy of California Family Formation Lawyers (ACAL/ACFFL); Fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys (AAAA); and founding Fellow of the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys (AAARTA). All organizations are by invitation only. Kristine has been a speaker on assisted reproduction and adoption issues to such groups as Adoption Coalition of San Diego, ACAL/ACFFL, Adoption Alliance Conference, AAAA, and AAARATA. Kristine has assisted hundreds of would-be parents build their family through surrogacy and adoption. She has worked with both Surrogates and Intended Parents in all legal aspects associated with the field of assisted reproduction technology. SHANNON M. MATTESON
Shannon M. Matteson has worked exclusively as a Family Formation attorney since 1997. Shannon's work has encompassed all aspects of surrogacy, egg donation, sperm donation, embryo donation, adoption, as well as surrogacy trust management and insurance issues.

Shannon has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys (AAAA) since 2003. Shannon also became a charter member of the American Academy of Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys (AAARTA) upon formation of this prestigious group in 2009. Shannon serves as the co-chair of AAARTA's Alternative Dispute Resolution committee. Her experience in mediation and methods of resolving conflict without litigation provides excellent background for Shannon's pivotal role of working with Intended Parents and Surrogates in occasionally stressful situations.

Shannon is also a charter member of the american Society for Reproductive Medicine's Legal Professionals Group. For this group, she has also served as the California Legislative Liaison. She places a high priority on keeping abreast of new developments in the cutting edge field of assisted reproduction, and thus her talents have been tapped as member of the AAAA and AAARTA 2011 Annual Conference planning team, and as a speakekr at a number of conferences and seminars. Shannon has made presentations on assisted reproduction and adoption to such groups as Resolve, the Crisis Pregnancy Centers, AAAA and AARTA.
